    Automated Cell Culture Analyzer With Maintenance-Free Chemistry Sensors

    BioProfile FLEX2 combines Nova’s groundbreaking MicroSensor™ Card technology with optical measurement and freezing point osmometry for an automated and comprehensive cell culture analyzer that eliminates chemistry sensor maintenance, increases analyzer speed, and reduces sample volume. The full 16 cell culture test menu includes: Gluc, Lac, Gln, Glu, NH4+, Na+, K+, Ca++, pH, PCO2, PO2, total cell density, viable cell density, viability, cell diameter, and osmolality.

    Compared to the previous generation BioProfile FLEX there is no maintenance for any of the 11 chemistry and gas sensors, sample volume for the full test menu is reduced by 75% to 275 microliters, and testing time is reduced to just 4.5 minutes. Automated sampling from 96-well plates, syringes, or a 24-position external “load-and-go” sample tray provides maximum workflow flexibility and efficiency for cell culture monitoring.

    Biological nanoparticles such as extracellular vesicles (EVs), exosomes, viruses, or virus-like particles are a rapidly growing area of research in the life sciences and nanomedical field. The rapid in vitro measurement of multiple physical parameters such as size, concentration, surface charge, and phenotype characteristics is the special feature of the Particle Metrix ZetaView®.

    Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) captures the Brownian motion of each particle in the video. Based on the different diffusion movements of large and small particles in the surrounding liquid, the hydrodynamic diameter of the particles is determined. Furthermore, the charge state of the particle surface (zeta potential) can be measured via the movement of the particles in an applied electric field.

    Pattern parameters, such as intensity fluctuations, surface geometry and shape of the particles as well as particle concentration are documented at each recording and can be used to distinguish sub-populations.

    All these analyzes are carried out quickly and statistically reliably as required in the scattered light or fluorescence mode.

    The flexible design ensures optimal performance and is operational within minutes, providing accurate analyses for Total Carbon (TC), Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC), TOC, Non-Purgeable Organic Carbon (NPOC), and TN.     The measurement of TC, TOC, TEC, and TIC is based on high-temperature catalytic combustion with Non-Dispersive Infrared detection (NDIR). The temperature settings are variable and a special temperature ramping program allows the analysis of TEC, according to DIN 19539. The TN/Protein analysis is based upon DUMAS methodology and detection with Thermal Conductivity (TCD). TIC can also be determined separately using automatic acidification and purging. All systems come with a practical and flexible software package, with pre-installed method files, user-definable sample table set up, integrated QC features, etc.

    The analyzer contains a large integrated 100 position autosampler with a unique vertical sample introduction system. The sample ashes remain in the crucible after the analysis and are taken out to the instrument with the removal of the crucible. This avoids sample ash build-up in the combustion zone and therefore reduces maintenance.

    MicroLab 40 is designed primarily for fleets operating equipment with hydraulic components or heavy equipment gears and transmissions. This would include off-road mining and construction vehicles as well as over-the-road equipment with hydraulics such as bucket trucks, fire engine ladder trucks or solid waste trucks. The MicroLab 40 is also used in applications for offshore drilling equipment. In addition to the basic oil chemistry and extended elemental analysis provided with the MicroLab 30, the MicroLab 40 model includes a particle counter which provides critical analysis for cleanliness of hydraulic oils and gear oils to determine the health of those oils and mechanical condition of those components.
